History

History Information

Children are naturally inquisitive about the world around them, where they come from and how they have changed. We aim to create a curriculum that inspires and challenges our pupils. Our History Lead is Miss McGrath.

Children work individually, in groups or as a class on carefully planned topics for each year group so that all the National Curriculum targets are covered in an interesting programme of work.  We identify ‘golden threads’ in our curriculum which are key issues that are covered throughout the year groups. These are embedded across our curriculum.

Aspirations

In order to inspire and prepare our pupils for the world of work, we want them to understand how learning about History can be useful to them in everyday life and in their future careers.

As Historians our pupils could be:

  • A Palaeontologist
  • A Researcher
  • An Archaeologist
  • A Museum Curator
  • An Archivist
  • A Tour Guide
  • A Solicitor
  • A Teacher
