London’s ChessFest

Our chess team has had a wonderful day at the London ChessFest! 

They took part in a competition, where one of our Year 3 pupils was crowned the winner 🏆♟️.

The team also enjoyed a lesson with one of the chess tutors, picking up some great tips. 

In the afternoon, they enjoyed a game of giant chess before taking on a grandmaster. 

They all had a fabulous day and we hope they loved every moment of the experience. ♟️🏆

Year 4 Class Assembly on Our Lady of Walsingham

Yesterday, Year 4 hosted their assembly where we explored Our Lady of Walsingham- the Lady of Year 4. 

We researched who Our Lady of Walsingham was and why she is such an important part of our Catholic faith.  In class we prayed to Our Lady of Walsingham to intercede on our behalf.

The story of Walsingham symbolises joy and hope. Pilgrims can visit it to pray to the Our Lady Shrine and remember the special annunciation.

TCSSA Swimming Gala

Our swimming team were outstanding tonight in the Tameside Catholic Schools Gala.
We had some amazing results:
3 individual golds 
1 team gold 
1 team silver 
1 team bronze 
Our boys team also managed to win the best team award, for winning every race they competed in. 
Lovely to see so many parents and families supporting the children.

Year 4 & 5 Football

Our Year 4 & 5 Boys Football Team were fantastic on Tuesday afternoon.
They went to Manchester United Cliff Training Ground to take part in the Community Cup. The team played 10 games, winning 5, drawing 2 and losing
3.
We managed to finish 3rd overall in a very competitive heat.
We are super proud of all the children. Well done. ⚽️
Whitworth Art Gallery Trip

Year 3 and 4 went on a fantastic trip to Whitworth Art Gallery. We explored the sculpture trail around the park, explored the different pieces of art around the gallery and took part in a special sculpture workshop. During our workshop we worked together then individually to create our own 3D sculptures using a variety of materials.
