Welcome Message

As the Headteacher of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Primary School, I would like to take this opportunity to warmly welcome you to our school.

The aims of the Governors, staff and myself are to create an environment that will ensure that your child will progress academically, socially and personally to reach his or her full potential.

We value the support and co-operation of parents, and view the education of each child as a partnership between home, school and parish. By working together, we can achieve the very best for all our children.

We are very proud of our school, its Catholic ethos and its excellent reputation within the local community, and we expect the highest standards from all our pupils in everything they do. All staff are committed to ensuring your child’s time with us is both happy and successful and we look forward to celebrating each and every child’s achievements.

Spreading Christmas Cheer

In our final day at Our Lady's we wanted to spread cheer with our local schools, including St. Damian's RC Science College.

Our Sow and Grow ambassadors took a Christmas card along with plantable seed paper to help spread eco friendly Christmas cheer.

Relics of Saint Carlo Acutis

Relics of Saint Carlo Acutis

Last week, a number of our students were able to visit the relics of Saint Carlo Acutis.
This amazing Saint was a young Italian Catholic known for his deep love of the Eucharist, which he called his “highway to heaven.” Gifted with computer skills, he used the internet to document Eucharistic miracles around the world, creating a website to help others grow in faith. Carlo lived an ordinary life with extraordinary charity—defending the vulnerable, helping the poor, and praying daily. He died of leukemia at age 15, offering his suffering to God. Canonized in 2024, he is a powerful witness that holiness is possible in the digital age, especially for young people.
This was an incredibly moving event which the children, and staff, spoke about afterwards reverently and inspirationally. The relics included a strand of hair, some of his clothing and a piece of pericardium.

Saint Carlo's example teaches us that we are all called to Sainthood through our actions and our words.

Year 3 Geography Map Lesson

Before the break, Year 3 finished their geography topic by learning how to orientate a map. We went into the hall, where the children had to complete a route to crack a series of puzzles. There were some fantastic map skills on show, well done, Year 3!
