KS1 Multi Skilss
What a lovely afternoon we had with our local schools Holden Clough, Silver Springs and Inspire Academy. We hosted a KS1 Multi Skills Competition, where the children had using different skills to score points for their team.
There are some future stars in Ashton! Lots of medals and certificates given out.
Massive thank you to our Young Ambassadors, who ran the whole event. You were superb.
Well done to everyone involved.
Identifying Wild Plants
Park Run
We’ve had a lovely day last week with Tameside SSP doing our termly Park Run. We are incredibly proud of every single child who took part. For once, we had the sun, which is always a bonus.
Well done everyone.
Y1 Tree Planting
Year 1 had a great time planting some hedges in the school grounds to improve them.
KS1 Forest School Exploration
Our school’s enquiry question for our Biodiversity Eco topic is 'How can we make our school grounds more biodiverse?'
In order to answer this question, KS1 had the important job of working out the school’s current biodiversity. They went into the forest school and school grounds for a mini beast and living things hunt where they counted the different living things that they could see. Y2 challenged themselves to identify each creature and its habitat.
Their findings were submitted to the Eco- Committee where the data will be used as a base line assessment. There will be another assessment completed at the end of the year after the school has implemented KS2’s ideas from their school trip to increase our biodiversity.
