Welcome Message

As the Headteacher of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Primary School, I would like to take this opportunity to warmly welcome you to our school.

The aims of the Governors, staff and myself are to create an environment that will ensure that your child will progress academically, socially and personally to reach his or her full potential.

We value the support and co-operation of parents, and view the education of each child as a partnership between home, school and parish. By working together, we can achieve the very best for all our children.

We are very proud of our school, its Catholic ethos and its excellent reputation within the local community, and we expect the highest standards from all our pupils in everything they do. All staff are committed to ensuring your child’s time with us is both happy and successful and we look forward to celebrating each and every child’s achievements.

Titanic trip

Year 2 had a fantastic trip to Liverpool yesterday. We explored the reasons why the Titanic sank and saw real life relics that was recovered from the wreckage. We saw a life jacket, plates, watches and glasses and explored the different classes who were on board the ship. A letter was read aloud to us that was never delivered and experienced how tragic the event was. The children were fantastically behaved. Well done Year 2!

Each child has been paired up with a new buddy who they are going to help settle in school. The Year 6 children were brilliant role models throughout and looked after all of the younger children. It was wonderful to see the children working so well together.
