The Sacramental Programme at Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Primary School

At Our Lady of Mount Carmel, we work closely with the parish catechist team to support the delivery of the Sacramental Programme. This programme prepares children to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.

If your child is in Year 3 or above and you would like them to take part in the programme this year, they will need to attend the preparation sessions led by the parish catechists.

These sessions take place at St Anne’s Church Hall, Burlington Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL6 7DG. The programme is coordinated by Jane Holgate, who can be contacted through the school office via email at:

A full list of session dates will be shared with parents in January. The programme usually consists of six Saturday morning sessions, beginning in January at 9:00 a.m., each lasting approximately one hour. Children who complete the programme will make their First Holy Communion at either St Christopher’s Church or St Anne’s Church in June.
