At Our Lady of Mount Carmel, our mission statement is at the heart of everything we do and this permeates throughout all aspects of our school life; it is known and lived by all staff and pupils at Our Lady’s.

Our school’s mission statement ‘…to grow in God’s Family…’ ensures that pupils at Our Lady’s have a strong understanding that our school community is committed to following the teaching and examples of Jesus and growing together as members of God’s family.

At Our Lady’s, we have cultivated an embedded culture that celebrates and welcomes the rich diversity of our school community and ensures that everyone feels valued and respected. We take pride in our culturally diverse community and actively encourage tolerance, respect and care for all people.

We will enjoy together by:

· Sharing God’s unconditional love

· Forgiving each other

· Spreading kindness

· Being polite to each other

· Caring and respecting one another

We will excel together by:

· Following Jesus’ example

· Giving our best in every lesson

· Showing resilience and never giving up

· Working collaboratively and supporting each other

We will grow together by:

· Practising Jesus’ example and that of the saints and other holy people

· Taking on responsibilities for others

· Helping those who are less fortunate than ourselves

· Welcoming and caring for everyone, no matter what their situation, background, race, gender, age, disability or religion

· Being fully involved in assemblies, collective worships and class prayers
